This allows students to gain practical experience and connects students closer to the future occupational fields.
Students acquire the necessary qualifications to teach young people attending agricultural vocational schools as well as adults in the extension service. Therefore, promoting the students’ ability to convey their expertise successfully has become the central aim of our teacher training programme.
We offer a unique study programme in agricultural education and extension. Our graduates gain in-depth knowledge in agriculture, food sciences, educational sciences, personal development and online learning. Our hands-on education equips students with the ability to pass on their knowledge to other learners – young people and adults – making a valuable contribution to education for sustainable development.

Green Pedagogy
Compass for sustainable education
The University College for Agricultural and Environmental Education is the competence centre for Green Pedagogy and has been strengthened its expertise in the field of education for sustainable development.
Green Pedagogy is an innovative approach to education that encourages learners to reflect their learning and teaching strategies in a changing global world. The model of Green Pedagogy emphasizes environmental awareness and sustainability in our various producing systems such as agriculture. Occurring contradictions during the individual learning processes are expected and are regarded as an important part of the process.
Green Pedagogy engages students in hands-on activities that promote critical thinking and problem-solving skills. To learn how to leave its own learning perspective encourages the competence of systemic thinking of the learner. This approach to education is essential in today’s world where environmental problems continue to pose significant challenges to our planet’s health and well-being.
Green Pedagogy seeks to create a culture of respect for nature and the players in food production processes to act responsibly towards all individuals and the environment. The goal of Green Pedagogy is to foster a sense of stewardship among learners, enabling them to be conscious of the impact of their actions on their social and natural environment.
